This study was conducted on 35 neonates of which 15Neonates who where age and sex matched of non-diabetic Controlled diabetic mothers. All studied infants were subjected to history taking, fullClinical examination, blood glucose, plain X-ray chest andHeart, and echo cardiographic study All mothers of the studiedInfants were subjected to estimation of glycosylated Hb todetect the degree of diabetic control during the last trimester.there were no correlation between the birth weight andmaternal glycosylated Hb, but blood glucose level showedsignificant decrease in IDMs . Chest and heart X-raydemonstrated an increase in heart size in 7.of 20 IDMs.there was no significant correlation between birth weight, glycosylated Hb and IVS hypertrophy.Pulsed Doppler echocardiographic examination revealed thatE/A ratio, a widely accepted index of ventricular diastolic function significantly decrease at the level of both mitral andtricuspid in IDMs as comparted to the control
