Abstract
We performed stapled hemorrhoidectomy on 16 patients with 2nd, 3rd and 4th degree hemorrhoids, with an operative time of 26.5 minutes, hospital stay of 2.7 days and sick leave of 7.69 days. We noticed the marked reduction in the postoperative pain, with faster return to work and absence of painful perianal wounds. The device is expensive, and hence the procedure is costly and can not be applied to all patients.
