Abstract

High resolution ultrasound shows a high degree of sensitivity in the assessment of diabetic foot infection regarding the soft tissue infection and detection of early osteomyelitis compared to plain radiography .But magnetic resonance imaging has a higher degree of sensitivity compared to high resolution ultrasound in detection of osteomyelitis. So we recommend using high resolution ultrasound as a screening modality for cases with diabetic foot infection whenever bone involvement is suspected .
