Color Doppler imaging (CDI) is a noninvasive ultrasound procedure which allows gray scale imaging of orbital structure with color coded imaging of vasculature and measurement of blood velocity in orbital vessels. It is very useful in calculation of blood velocity in the ophthalmic artery and its branches as well as the orbital veins. This method is very valuable is studying many ocular diseases as glaucoma, vascular eye diseases, optic nerve disorders, and other diseases. It is also valuable is studying the effect of certain treatment modalities and in follow up of patient such as patients with intraocular tumors and glaucoma patients.
