Abstract

Among patients with involved nodes, survival and local control rates correlated directly with the number, size and the levels of the involved nodes. Lymph nodal involvement was shown to increase the risk of disease persistence and recurrence both in the primary site and in the neck. Multiple metastatic nodes particularly when located at low (IV-V) levels, were associated with poor prognosis both in terms of disease free and overall survival.
