Abstract

Introduction: Constipation is a common complaint heard in clinical Pediatrics. Aim of the Work: Is to identify the different causes of chronic constipation in Egyptian children. Methodology: This study include 30 patients, from those attending the outpatient clinic of About El Resh Hospital, complaining of chronic constipation .Results: The etiology of constipation was dietetic in 18 patients (60%), CMA in 8 patients (26.7%), Hirshsprung disease in 3 cases (10%), psychological constipation 1 patient (3.3%). Conclusion: Dietetic constipation is the most common cause, while CMA should be regarded.
