Clinical microbiology laboratories can choose from several different manual or instrument-assisted methods for perfor¬mance of routine antibacterial susceptibility tests. The E-test is the most accurate quantitative results, with good flexibility in selection of antimicrobial agents, but the most expensive and relatively difficult in performance. The Sensititre microdilution panel is accurate quantitative method, easy in performance , but is relatively expensive and with low flexibility in selection of antimicrobial agents. The disk diffusion is the most cheap, most flexible in selection, easy in performance, but gives categorized qualitative results. Cefinase disk is of no therapeutic value, other methods for detection of -lactamases are recommended.
