Abstract

Severe head injuries has proven to be a devastating entity in headtrauma is the leading cause of prolonged disability and one of the majorcauses of death. The head injured patient combines the most complicatedproblems both medically and surgically. Many factors converge todetermine the individual's survival and its quality. Age, pre-existingdisease, associated multiple trauma, delay in treatment, severity of injury,neurological function and type of lesion. All play a part in determining the outcome.
