Abstract

This study was performed on 40 cases with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. Ten cases of them were acute (Group I) , ten were in remission (GroupII), ten were chronic steroid dependent (Group III) and ten were chronic steroid independent (Group IV). This study aimed at investigating GPIIa/IIIa complex receptors in children with ITP to evaluate their role in ITP.According to the results obtained in this study, it could be concluded that GPIIa/IIIa complex receptors play an important role in children with ITP.Their levels are significantly low in acute cases, and markedly increased in remission while decreased in chronic cases.
