Abstract

Arabic is one of the old Semitic languages. Prosody is the suprasegmental features of speech that convey most of language message. The phonetic bases of suprasegmentals are pitch, duration, energy, tempo, speaking rate and rhythm. Prosodic skills are acquired in Arabic speaking children in different ages than other languages.
