Abstract

Acromioclavicular joint is a gliding joint. Acromioclavicular injuries are divided into six types according to Rockwood (1984). Treatment is decided upon on the basis of type of injury. Type I and II are treated non-operatively. Type IV, V and VI are treated operatively. Treatment of type III is controversial. It may be treated non-operatively in the acute setting.
