Abstract

The surgeons must keep in mind not to attempt acrobatics with a stake in gambling of the patient’s life. If they feel unsure about which approach to use, the conventional approach may be more appropriate without risking the patients. In summary, the frontolateral craniotomy, together with the achievements of modern neuroanesthesia, CSF drainage, and microsurgical methods, is a safe technique in the hands of experienced neurosurgeons for the treatment of different lesions of the anterior cranial fossa, sellar and suprasellar regions.
