Objective : Investigate the relationship of platelets count to some clinical and laboratory data of disease activity in rheumatoid arthritis patients.Patients and methods : Forty female adults RA patients and ten male adults RA patients were included in our study and 25 control subjects. Correlation was done between platelets count in Rheumatoid arthritis patients with some clinical and laboratory data of disease activity, as well as correlation between platelets count in both the patients group and control group. Results: A highly significant difference between the patients group and the controls group regarding platelets count and a significant difference between the two groups regarding the HB level. In patients group there was a significant positive correlation between HAQ and platelets count (r=0.35, p<0.05). Significant positive correlation between ESR and platelets count (r=0.3, P<0.05).A significant negative correlation between platelets count and HB (r=-0.293, p<0.05).Conclusion : We conclude from our study that rheumatoid arthritis is frequently complicated by thrombocytosis correlated with disease activity.
