Background: Classical Hodgkin Lymphoma (CHL) express B-cell marker CD20 with a reported frequency of 20% to 80% of cases (Jaffe et al., 2011). The prognostic significance of CD20 expression in CHL is still controversial. We conduct this study to determine the prevelance of pediatric classical Hodgkin lymphoma in Egypt (National Cancer Institute, Cairo University) and to assess the prognostic significance of CD20 expression in such cases. Material and Methods: It is a retrospective study that carried out on 70 cases, pathologically and immunohistochemically diagnosed as CHL, presented to the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University during the period from 2005-2011 by performing CD20 immunohistochemistry. Correlation with disease free survival (DFS) was done. Results: CD20 was detected in 11 (15.7%) out of 70 classical HD tumors and its distribution was as follow; mixed cellularity (5 out of 21 case, 23.8%), nodular sclerosis (4 out 43 case, 9.3%) and lymphocyte rich (2 out of 6 case, 33.3%). CD20 expression varied considerably between tumors in terms of percentage of positive cells. Conclusion: CD20 expression was significantly associated with age and free bone marrow status but not with 2-years disease free survival (DFS) and other clinicopathologic variables.
