Abstract

Patients with PROM should be properly diagnosed .First step in management of PROM is to exclude patients that require immediate delivery. Subsequent management will depends on gestational age. Patients with PROM > 36 weeks of gestation should be delivered. PPROM will be managed expectantly using antibiotics, tocholytics and corticosteroids. Patients with PROM < 24 weeks of gestation have poor neonatal outcome. There is an important role of vitamin C and vitamin E in prevention of PROM.
