The staging of cancer and its treatment is dependent on the presence or absence of metastases. The metastatic cascade consists of a number of complex, overlapping, repetitive steps. The most common symptoms at diagnosis are headache. Focal weakness and seizeure. Contrast- enhanced MR is the procedure of choice for the detection and evaluation of intracranical metastases. The various options for the treatment of metastatic neoplasm include corticosteroids, surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and stereotatic radiosurgery. Favorable prognostic factors include the absence of systemic diseases, young age, good performance status (KPZ>/70).
