Objective: fat augmentation for glottic insufficiency has been used in patients with vocal fold paralysis. This thesis studies the efficiency of fat injection in patients with vocal fold paralysis. Methods: Videolaryngostroboscopic, the perceptual acoustic, and phonatory functions data were evaluated before and after fat augmentation in 17 patients. Results: Thirteen patients had satisfactory voice outcome, four patients had no change of voice and four patients had late failure after 6-9 months follow up. Phonatory functions showed significant improvement. Conclusions: Fat injection is a good autologous implant and may be considered as an option in management of patients with vocal fold paralysis.
