Abstract

The cause of acute leukemia is not known in most of the cases. Several studies point to the existence of a correlation between lipid peroxidation and both cell proliferation and neoplastic transformation.Lipid peroxidation is a well-established mechanism of cellular injury, and is used as an indicator of oxidative stress in cells and tissues. This process of lipid peroxidation is estimated by measuring the secondary aldehydic break down product malondialdehyde.
