Abstract

Shoulder dystocia considered one of the most serious emergencies in obstetrics, as it is unpredictable event and associated with high incidence of morbidity and mortality to the fetus and his mother.There are multiple risk factors for shoulder dystocia as macrosomia, diabetes and obesity. Ruptured uterus is the most important complication of the mother, and brachial plexus injury for the fetus. The best technique used to solve this problem is McRobert's technique.
