Abstract

This is a retrospective study of bum wound infection ( isolates and antibiotic sensitivil.y ) . It was carried out on 700 burned patients in the burn unit of Kasr El-Aini Hospital over a 5-year period (1996-2001) . The commonest colonizing organism was Pseudomonas aeruginosa (45.5%) followed by Klebsiella spp. (27.5%) and Stapylococcus aureus (24.5%) . P. aeruginosa was most susceptible to Tienam (69.6%) and Polymexin (49%) . 95.5% of Staph. aureus was MRSA and 450 was MSSA
