Recurrent anterior traumatic shoulder instability is a common problem among the active young population.Diagnosis of the exact lesion responsible for instability is crucial for proper management of the condition.This study includes 40 cases of recurrent traumatic unidirectional instabilities. All had Bankart lesion and all were operated upon using suture anchors. Twenty cases with the knotless anchor and 20 cases with knotted anchor, 10 of which was the super anchor and the other 10 with GII anchors. The age ranged between 18 and 40 years with an average age 21 years. The follow up period ranged between 10 and 30 months with an average of 20 months, we applied the modified Row`s scale scoring system on the patients of the study. Excellent results 90% or more obtained in 22 cases (55%), good results (70-89%) obtained in 14 cases(35%) ,fair results (40-69%) obtained in two cases (5%) and two patients (5%) were poor (less than 40%). Thus arthroscopic management of shoulder instability offers almost, the same out come as open techniques with the advantage of avoiding the morbidity of open surgery and having earlier rehabilitation.The use of suture anchors especially the knotless one has the appeal of providing an easy method for fixation that is identical to an open repair.
