Abstract

Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory disease that can affect the cervical spine with consequent neurologic deficit. The main neurological complication is cervical myelopathy, and the early symptoms of which can be difficult to recognize in patients with severe joint deformities. As interpretation of neurological assessment is difficult in RA patients, somatosensory evoked potential (SSEP) could offer an additional important information about the function of sensory pathway to detect any spinal cord affection. The present work aims to study SSEP in RA patients.
