Abstract

Maternal viral and protozoal infections, contribute enormously to childhood morbidity and mortality. TORCH infections, mean infections associated with Toxoplasma, Other organisms (parvovirus, HIV, EBV, herpes virus 6 and 8, varicella, syphilis and enteroviruses), Rubella, CMV and Hepatitis. The purpose of this assay is to update the clinician of the enormous changes that are affecting the diagnosis and management of TORCH infections.
