The aim of this work is to study and determine the eitiologyof cerebral stroke ( infarction and homorrhage ) in youngfemale , risk factors and to find correlation between thesefactors and the clinical presentaion . this study wasconducted on 50 female patient aged 15 –45 years old withstroke . the were subjected to the following neurologicalhistory taking complete neurolgical examintaion labratoryinvestigation and radiological investigation include cerebralC.T cerbral M.R.I carotid duplex cerebral angiography andelectrocardiography . the result were as follows cardiaccause 18 cases (36%) blood disease 11 cases (22%)vascular diseases 4 cases (8%) hypertension 4 cases (8%)drug abuse 4 cases (8%) oral contraceptive 3 cases (6 %)diabetes milletus 3 cases (6%) unknown 2 cases (4%) andmigraine 1 case (2%) the major cause of stroke in youngadults is cardiac and the increase incidense of drug abuse instroke prevalence conclusion cerebral stroke ( infarctionand heamorrhage ) in young woman has wide eitiologicspectrum . the principal mechanism of stroke in youngfemale cardiac diseases vascular disorders blood diseasestroke due to drugs abuse now represent gradual increaseas cause of stroke in young adults .
