Abstract

Local or regional block is the preferred anesthetic technique for cataract surgery,Regional Block has been associated with ischemic complication such as central retinal vascular occlusion and optic atrophy,Many factors may account for the dramatic reduction of pulsatile ocular blood flow after anesthesia may be due to volume effect or local anesthetic drugs causes vasoconstriction. In diabetics there is impaired blood flow, retinopathy and increased incidence of blindness. Our target from this study is to find the safest technique for anesthesia of diabetic patients undergoing cataract surgery.
