Abstract

Treatment of ureteral stones is the most frequent indication for therapeutic Ureteroscopy. In our study 70 patients with distal ureteric calculi were subjected to ureteroscopic stone retrieval with or without lithotripsy. The age of these patients ranges from 17 to 67 years old. The success rate of ureteroscopic stone retrieval with or without the aid of ballistic lithoclast for stone fragmentation was 97.2% .There were no major complications during the procedure that need surgical intervention, but only minor complications. The average postoperative hospital stay for patients was two days.
