This study was carried out on 320 Marine recruits who underwent basic training at Naval Training Center. The incidence of stress fracture was 15.9% (51 out of the 320 recruits). The injured recruits had younger age, narrower tibial bone width, and bigger range of hip external rotation. The tibia was the most affected bone. Bone scan was the main radiological imaging to confirm the diagnosis of stress fracture. The use of preventive measures reduces the incidence of stress fractures.
