Abstract

Ultrasound biomicroscopy is a recent useful non-invasive method for visualization of living tissues at microscopic resolution. It is useful in evaluating many of the diseases that affect the anterior segment of the eye even in the presence of opacity in the media. UBM play an important role in the diagnosis of anterior segment diseases related to the pediatric age group such as congenital glaucoma, anterior segment dysgenesis, congenital cataract, anterior uveitis, cyclitic membrane, anteriorly located intraocular foreign body and different types of anterior segment cysts.
