Abstract
Orthotopic liver transplantation is currently an accepted therapeutic option for the treatment of children with diseases of the liver and biliary tracts causing hepatic failure. The use of living-related and reduced-size grafts have increased the number of organs available.Proper preoperative evaluation, choice of anesthetic technique, and postoperative care for both the recipient and the donor greatly influence the outcome of the transplantation procedure.
