This work estimated the fasting and the postprandial levels of serum leptin, insulin, magnesium and blood sugar in normotensive and hypertensive obese females (whose BMI > 30 kg/m2 ). The results showed that there were hyperleptinemia, hyperinsulinemia and hypomagnesemia. The leptin and insulin levels were significantly positively correlated to each other as well to obesity and hypertension. It was concluded that leptin and insulin have potential roles in the pathogenesis of obesity and hypertension. Also, there is impaired of magnesium metabolism due to obesity associated with hypertension.
