Abstract
Inferior turbinate hypertrophy is one of the most common causes for bilateral nasal obstruction. This study was done on 60 patients complaining of bilateral nasal obstruction caused by inferior turbinate hypertrophy. Submucous (bony and soft tissue) turbinectomy using the microdebrider was done for these patients. Patients were kept on strict observation for 6 months post operatively. Immediate complications were insignificant. As a conclusion of the follow up period; nasal obstruction was completely relieved in 76.6% of patients. Microdebrider is deemed to be rapid, reliable and safe technique for inferior turbinectomy.
