Bronchial asthma is considered one of the most common chest diseasescausing recurrent wheezes. With the new advances in computed tomographymachines, it is now possible to understand the underlying pathophysiologicchanges affecting the airways of the asthmatic patients. Multislice computedtomography (MSCT) plays an important role in assessing the patient’s response totreatment. MSCT is used also for identification of causes of failure to respond toasthma medications which include complicated asthma and presence of conditionsthat may be confused with asthma.
