Carotid artery disease is considered a major problem for recurrent attacks of stroke. Surgical treatment is still is the golden standered treatment for carotid stenosis. Carotid endarterectomy can be done either under general or local anaesthesia. It also can be done with patches or with primary closure. In this thesis no difference between both techniques as regard the results of complications.
