Abstract

Axillary lymph node status is still the most important prognostic factor in breast cancer, but axillary dissection is associated with some morbidity. Researches soon started to apply the sentinel lymph node concept in patients with breast cancer. This study included 50 patients with T1/ T2 breast cancer. Sentinel lymph node was localized in 96% of patients with a negative predictive value and sensitivity of 100%, confirmed by immuno- hystochemical study.
