Bronchial ashma is a bhronic inflammatory disease of the airway in which physical exercise is a trigger for asthma exacerbations. Theis study aimed to evaluate the exercise capacity in asthmatic children before and after therapy with inhaled corticosreroid (ICS) as compared to a control group not taking anti-inflammatory drugs. The results of the study showed a significant improvement in pulmonary function tests and exercise capacity, as evident from increase in maximum 02 uptake (VO2 max) in children on ICS as compared to the control group.
