Assessments of CSF flow indicate the potentials of using phase-contrast MR imaging (velocity Images) for quantitative and qualitative CSF flow analysis. So, Cine- phase contrast MRI for CSF flow evaluation is a useful adjunct to routine MR in the evaluation of pediatric hydrocephalus regarding alterations of normal CSF flow dynamics, and as an aid for differential diagnosis in certain conditions. With the knowledge that phase imaging is capable of generating actual velocity measurement, CSF flow studies will probably assume a greater role in MR imaging.
