Hepatocellular carcinoma is one of the common malignancies throughout the world. There is at least one million new case per year. Although surgical resection is the gold standard in the treatment of this disease, the majority of patients with primary or metastatic carcinoma are not candidates for surgery.Radiofrequency thermal ablation (RFA) is a new technology used to treat patients with irresectable primary and metastatic hepatic malignancy. RFA procedures coagulative necrosis of tumors through local tissue heating which can be done percutaneously, laparoscopically or during laparotomy. Our study, included the treatment of ten cases of HCC by RFA and follow them up to six months and we found that RFA is a safe, well tolerated, effective treatment of irresectable hepatic tumors.
