Abstract

Maxillofacial fractures are more prevalent in large cities due to heavy traffic and high incidence of violence. An understanding of the cause, severity, temporal and demographic distribution of maxillofacial trauma can assist in establishing clinical and research priorities for effective treatment and prevention of these injuries. The aim of the study was to report on the survey of fractures, frequency of presentation, sex and age distributions and to evaluate the statistical pattern of maxillofacial fractures in patients admitted to Department of Plastic Surgery in the Kasr Alainy University Hospital during the period of October 1, 2012 to April 1, 2013.
