Abstract

Bronchial asthma has been recently regarded as a chronicinflammatory disease of the airways, which reflects the importance ofanti-inflammatory therapy for long – term prophylactic treatment inpersistent asthma. Corticosteroids remain the most potent antiinflammatorytherapy available. The aim of the work was to study the cardiopulmonary functions inchildren with moderate persistent asthma and moderately persistentasthma before and after treatment with inhaled steroids with or withoutlong acting β2 agonists.
