Abstract

This study is to provide information on the use of silver releasing hydrofiber dressing (Aquacel®) in comparison with conventional dressing (povidone iodine) in management of partial thickness burn. Study was held on patients with 10-20% partial thickness burn. This study showed that (Aquacel®) is safe and effective for management of partial thickness burn. The dressing reduce the need for frequent dressing changes. Good results as regard ease of use, comfort, flexibility, conformability and the reducing of pain was achieved. These data indicate that (Aquacel®) combines several properties known to be beneficial for management of partial thickness burn.
