Abstract

The combination of single-voxel MR spectroscopy and ADCcalculation could improve the diagnostic efficacy of MR imaging in thedifferentiation and grading of brain tumors. The diffusion study has advantages of low examination time andsimple post processing and calculation of ADC value and has a highsensitivity and specificity in detection of the tumor grade. On other hand the MR spectroscopy has a relatively longerexamination time, inaccurate assessment especially in the lesion withheterogeneous components as well as complicated post processing andinterpretation, in addition to lower accuracy in predication of tumor grade. So we recommended to use the diffusion study and calculated ADCvalues of the tumor in order to preoperative grading of the tumor.
