Nitrofurantoin is an antimicrobial drug that is most commonly used in the treatment and prevention of urinary tract infections, especially acute and recurrent cystitis. This work was carried out to demonstrate the short and long term effect of Nitrofurantoin on the lung tissue of adult albino rat and to evaluate the possible protective role of vitamin E in preventing the hazardous effects on the lungs.
