Patients with decompensated liver cirrhosis (chronic liver disease). Showing a marked decrease in oxygen uptake during conditions of stress such as cardio-pulmonary exercise testing. This finding is attributed to cirrohtic cardiomyopathy and for myopathy this study is useful in assessing cirrhotic patients who are candidates for liver transplantation.
