Background: Determination of the perception and attitudes of Kasr Al-Aini Hospital antenatal care patients towards Maternal Demand for Cesarean Section ( MDCS), their willingness to request MDCS, and the relationship between willingness to request MDCS and sociodemographic characteristics. Methods: A Pilot study of this survey was undertaken among 300 patients attended Kasr Al-Aini Hospital. Results: The number of patients who were willing to request MDCS was 125 women (41.66%). The older the age, the higher the level of education, the less the gravidity, the history of a previous CS, the more the request for MDCS. History of stillbirth has no relation in influencing the decision of request. Conclusion: The main reasons for MDCS were fear of labour pain, followed by concern about the baby’s safety, followed by preservation of sexual function and avoiding more complications. Psychological elements had some role in increasing the request of MDCS.
