Abstract

Background: A lot of sling materials by TVT-S are introduced in order to minimize complications caused by TVT or TOT.Objective: Evaluation of the feasibility, safety and efficacy of prolene mesh as a needleless single incision TOT for the surgical treatment of female SUI.Patients and method: 22 female patients with SUI were included in this study between January 2011 to October 2013. All patients evaluated by a stress and urge urinary incontinence quality of life questionnaire (SUIQQ), stress test, and urodynamic study prior to and at 1, 3, and 6 months after the intervention. Results: There were significant (P value < 0.001) difference between pre & postoperative scores of SUI & QOL. 86.36% of patients were cured subjectively. This was increased to 95.45% objectively. Intra-operative complication in the form of bladder perforation in 1 case. Post-operatively, 1 patient had thigh pain, 1 patient had wound infection and was associated with vaginal discharge and failur of wound healing, 2 patients had dyspareunia. Conclusion: Our results showed that the single incision needleless trans-obturator tension-free prolene mesh sling is a feasible, safe, cheap, accurate, quick, and simple surgical procedure for treating SUI.
