Abstract

Reconstruction of post burn facial deformities was done by many alternative techniques that have been suggested, the ideal technique has not been described yet. Full-thickness skin grafting procedures is one of the options, for restoration of the functional and aesthetic units of the face. Full-thickness skin graft has some advantages for face reconstruction as better cosmetic outcomes as it minimizes wound contraction at the site of the defect and gives better colour, skin quality and thickness. There are many donor sites for full-thickness skin grafting as preauricular, postauricular, upper eyelid skin, supraclavicular skin and lateral thoracic region. Lateral thoracic region has some advantages for face reconstruction with its larger size, similar colour, thickness skin, quality and texture.
