Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess the prevalence and diagnostic value of microalbuminuria and hyperinsulinemia in non- diabetic patients with IHD.The study included 104 non-diabetic subjects were divided into 4 groups (20 healthy volunteers as a control, 21 patients with chronic stable angina subjected to coronary angiography, 30 patients with unstable angina and 33 patients with AMI. The results of this study showed:-There was progressive increasing prevalence and level of microalbuminuria from patients with chronic stable angina to unstable angina to those of acute MI.Hyperinsulinemia was higher in prevalence and extent in patients with chronic stable angina than those with unstable angina and acute MI.
