The different refractive procedures have their limitations in correcting high errors, so the concept of bioptics was suggested to apply combinations of refractive procedures in such high errors. The aim of this concept is to make benefit of the high predictability of each refractive procedure in correction of low to moderate errors to fulfill the goal of refractive surgery; which is reaching the best uncorrected visual acuity in cases of higher errors.
