Hysteroscopy is an old technique, but has attracted much attention after the marvelous advancement of optics, instrumentation, uterine distension media and energy use. Office hysteroscopic examination is now an established step in the diagnostic and therapeutic work up of cases with abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility, misplaced or lost intrauterine contraceptive device and recurrent miscarriage that can be performed safely and efficiently without anesthesia in most cases.
