This is a retrospective study of 100 cases of tongue cancer treated inside NCI-Cairo University. The study revealed that despite al advances in treatment of tongue cancer it still an aggressive tumor with high incidence of nodal metastasis and recurrence after surgery. It has been suggested to perform more studies regarding the use of combined therapy for early tongue cancer, and putting in consideration the use of chemotherapy aiming to improve survival and prevent recurrence. It was also found that selective neck dissection is better than elective neck irradiation in treatment of clinically negative neck nodes.
